As you probably know you can increase the speed of a video in mpv with the key ] in 10% steps without pitching the audio.

In cases where people are just talking you can save a lot of time and mostly you can watch a video with a speed of 150 to 190 percent.

I like that feature of mpv and always try to use it; but often forget it.

To permanent view all videos with a specified speed, add the following line to your mpv config located in ~/.mpv/config:

speed=1.5

If you want to watch a video in normal speed press BACKSPACE once or [ five times.
